Betty was living adjacent to our new property and was pregnant with her fifth baby when we met her. She was a breeding cow, meant to have baby after baby until she was too old to produce "good stock," at which point she would be sent to slaughter. However, the rancher had a soft spot for Betty and asked us if she could live the rest of her days with us. We said yes and the next day she gave birth to her baby, Boop. Betty and Boop will get to live the rest of their lives together, showing us why cows are as deserving of a good life as every other sentient being.
